Some Blatant Self Promotion

pink-lily.jpgYes, I’m going to do some blatant self promotion here! I’m not sure how many of you know about all the different Cotton Spice things you can do.

Have you participated in a BOM Challenge? We have a blog devoted to the BOM Challenges currently going on, get the latest news and blocks here

Have you read the new issue of Cotton Spice? If you’re registered on our site, log-in and you’ll be taken to a Menu page. From there click on Cotton Spice Quilting Magazine Downloads and you’ll be able to download ANY issue of Cotton Spice, from the newest March 2008 issue to the first issue in June 2006. If you’re not registered, it only takes a minute. All we ask for is your email address and a password, That’s it!

Have you visited our Cafe Press store? We’re still stocking it, but you can find some cool Cotton Spice coffee cups, some fun Note Cards and Magnets.

Have you visited the Cotton Spice Etsy store recently? It’s badly in need of restocking, but I’ve got some fabric for sale, nice packages of Lights, Reds and Primitive Packs.

We are looking for some volunteers. We could use someone to do Marketing, and a Project Finisher! I’m good at coming up with ideas for project, but I rarely have time to see them through to completion. Right now, the Round Robin project started LAST June, really needs a finisher! Just email me if you’re interested.

After much thought and prayer, we’ve added a donation button to our home page menu.  When we started this magazine, we made a decision Not to go into debt. Cash flow is fickle, as most of you know and of course, we don’t have any big corporation backing us like the biggie quilt magazines and quite frankly, we could use some help financially. We don’t want anyone to feel pressured to donate, so please don’t! But if you’d like to help, we’d be so grateful.

I think we have some of the Best talent in the quilting business working for Cotton Spice. Visit the websites of some our designers –

Cottage Quilt Designs – Rochelle Martin  is a frequent designer for us, and you can find her Orchid Garden quilt in the March 2008 issue of Cotton Spice

Stone Cottage Quilts – Barbara Douglas has shared some great designs with us, and she’s also the talented writer behind Quiltology. If you missed her last article on Quilters Stash, you better go read it. It was great! And the pictures that quilters shared of their stashes, oh my goodness!!!! One generous quilter sent us a picture that took 2 pages. I couldn’t bear to cut any of it out.

Larkspur Lane Designs – Sue Cook has designed some really fun quilts for us, and she frequently designs for the BOM Challenge.

Eva Paige Quilt Designs –  Beth Helfter is a talented quilt designer on her way UP! Check out her website and the September 2007 issue for her Sunflower Quilt.

Our writers –

Beth Brubaker is the force behind The Q Files – the back story of the Quilt Police. Her adventures as a double agent will have you in stitches!

Laura Day – (Rochelle Martins daughter) doesn’t have a website, but she is the one who got us hooked on the Aunt Isabelle and Tara Mystery stories. Every issue she supplies us with a new chapter in their lives, each mystery revolving around a quilt. When you visit Rochelle’s website – Cottage Quilt Designs – click on Story Quilts. Laura and her mom are developing a fun project – Quilt designs that come with their own stories! Very cool!

And, Laura Kong, the quilting diva – she creates a quick, fun project for every issue.  And her blog is always colorful and informative.

And last but not at all Least, is Quilt Therapy – Tammy Harrison, our quilting web guru.  She does all the techy stuff needed to make the whole shebang work seamlessly. Without her, I don’t know what we’d do, she’s an angel. You ever meet someone online and just know you’ll be friends? Well, over the past 2 years, we’ve become good friends.

All of these people and more have made Cotton Spice what it has become. This is not the work of just one person – but many. They are all important to us, and without them, Cotton Spice wouldn’t be what it is today. Visit their websites and blogs, read their articles and make their quilts and projects. Show them how much you appreciate their work and dedication to helping us do a difficult thing – start a new magazine.

End of commercial 🙂 AND… all you wonderful ladies (as far as I know) who visit here and comment – you just don’t know what that means to me. Good things, really good things. Blogs are such an amazing thing, they are great for bringing together kindred spirits.

How I would love to have an Afternoon Tea for all of you – all together in one lovely place. Becky, Amy, Karen, Crystal, Kristin, Kat, Stephanie, PariSarah, Cory, Kristi Van Os, Leah, Janice and Jeanne and everyone else. What a fun time that would be!

Have a wonderful weekend!
